Healthcare Team

Community Midwives

Our community midwife has a weekly clinic. She visits all pregnant women at home early in their pregnancy, arranges all the tests, investigations and appointments with specialists as appropriate and will also visit new mothers after they return to their home.

Community Nurses

District nurses work with the doctors in providing nursing care for patients confined to their homes. They will assess the nursing needs of the housebound, acute and chronic sick, or those who have had recent operations and can provide advice on incontinence and nursing aids. They will also advise and support carers and will refer to other agencies or specialist nurses in the community as necessary. Their aim is to enable patients to live an independent and dignified life.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
