Financial year 2014/15

An average GP at Church Close Surgery earned £53,000 gross for a full-time equivalent post

This is before tax, National Insurance and pension contribution has been taken off

The practice had 2 full-time equivalent GPs

The practice also has to pay the following:

£12,000 per year in medical insurance
£2,800 for an inspection by the Care Quality Commission
£3,000 a year in postage
£16,000 a year in phone and utility bills

Financial year 2015/16

The accounts for 2015/16 have not yet been finalised. The figures for the financial year 2015/16 will appear as soon as possible.


Nurse Carol Bosworth (f)

Carol joined the practice in May 2015 and is experienced in all treatment room duties, chronic diseases, travel vaccinations and childhood immunisations.

Carol is also our diabetic specialist nurse.

Healthcare Assistants

We also have two healthcare assistants in the surgery who have undergone further training to undertake additional duties. These include spirometry checks, NHS health checks, blood pressure checks, taking blood and some injections. These healthcare assistants also work on reception so they will be familiar faces to you. Please ask on reception for details.

Nesa Hurdley (f)

Nesa Hurdley, our Healthcare Assistant, can undertake NHS Health Checks, blood pressure, bloods and some injections.
